Frequently asked questions.
How often will I need to meet with you?
It varies. Ideally in order to build upon consistency and rapport, the first 3 visits would be weekly for adults. While building rapport and trust with children can take up to 6 visits. We go over your needs and establish a direction for the program that best suits your needs. There is a gradual reduction of frequency when progress is identified, usually within 4-6 months.
How long is the treatment or program?
Mental Health treatment can be short term starting at 3 months all the way up to 2 years or more. It depends on how many concerns and goals you have, at what rate you are having progress, and having frequent check ins to assess whether outpatient therapy is appropriate. With children there is a longer process of building trust and therapeutic relationship which means treatment and progress will take longer.
When can I expect to feel better and get results?
There is no clear answer to this one unfortunately. The results are meant to be experienced by you. By results, I prefer to reference progress. The idea is that by you putting in the work and utilizing tools provided within sessions, you will experience progress from where you first started. This is a sign that treatment is helping and supporting your goals. When you feel that it is not helpful, we collaborate to offer different methods, or refer you to a professional who can better serve you.
Throughout your enrollment with us, we check-in frequently and use measurement tools to talk about whether you are noticing and experiencing progress. We will talk about recommendations to further support you and discuss observations of your progress.
Will my insurance cover the cost of the sessions?
Currently we are not in a network for any insurance providers in California. We can provide documentation of the expenses for you to submit a request reimbursement from your insurance. It is not guaranteed but worth doing to obtain as much reimbursement as you can. Review our fee schedule here.
